We've never been the biggest yard around — and we've never wanted to be. We set out to be the one builders could count on: materials kept dry, advice you can trust, and a family that stands behind every order. That's the thread that runs through our whole history.
Lifestyle Lumber gets its start as a family-run yard in St. Martin, Minnesota — founded on a simple idea: give local builders and homeowners quality materials and honest help, and treat every project like it matters.
Word travels fast on a job site. Crew by crew, the yard earned a name for boards that showed up straight and ready to build with — and for a team that picked up the phone and gave a straight answer.
Minnesota weather is hard on building materials. To protect quality and durability, the yard moved its inventory indoors — out of the rain, snow, and sun — so what customers loaded out stayed dry and true.
As the business grew, so did the team — bringing together estimators, yard hands, and product specialists whose combined know-how now adds up to more than 75 years on the job.
To keep customers from running all over the county, the yard expanded its material lines and showroom: windows, siding, shingles, and decking joined the lumber, so a whole project could be specced and sourced in one stop.
To reach more of the region, a second yard opened in Bowlus — same materials, same team, same commitment — serving the north and east reaches of central Minnesota.
Good materials don't help if they show up late. Free delivery inside a 50-mile radius of both yards meant crews could count on materials arriving on site, on schedule — with extended delivery available beyond the radius for a fee.
Three and a half decades in, we're still family-run, still keeping materials dry, and still giving straight answers — backing central Minnesota's builders and homeowners from the first blueprint to the finished build.
